การเข้าโปรแกรม Fdisk
ในการเข้าโปรแกรม Fdisk ให้ปฏิบัติดังนี้
1. ใส่แผ่น Startup Disk Windows 98 หรือ ME เข้าไปก่อน แล้วเปิดเครื่อง
2. เมื่อเปิดเครื่องและอยู่ที่ A:\> แล้ว ให้พิมพ์ FDISK จากนั้นให้กดปุ่ม Enter จะปรากฏ ข้อความแจ้งเกี่ยวกับ FAT 32 ให้กด Y แล้ว Enter ถ้าต้องการกำหนดให้ ฮาร์ดดิสก์เป็น FAT 32 หรือกดปุ่มตัว N ถ้าต้องการให้เป็น FAT16 ในที่นี้ให้กด Y (ฮาร์ดดิสก์ที่ความจุเกินกว่า 2 Gb และ จะติดตั้ง Windos 98 หรือ ME หรือ XP) ให้กด y แล้ว Enter เข้าโปรแกรม ได้เลย)

ความหมายของเมนูหลัก
1. สร้างพาร์ติชันใหม่หรือสำหรับแบ่งฮาร์ดดิสก์ออกเป็นหนึ่งส่วนหรือหลายๆ ส่วนนั่นเอง
2. กำหนดให้พาร์ติชันใดสามารถบูตเครื่องได้
3. ลบพาร์ติชันออก
4. ให้แสดงพาร์ติชันหรือที่มีอยู่ออกมาบนจอภาพ
กดปุ่ม Esc ถ้าต้องการออกจากโปรแกรม Fdisk
Note:
ในกรณีที่มีฮาร์ดดิสก์มากกว่า 1 ตัว จะมีข้อที่ 5 Change current fixed disk drive เพื่อให้เลือก ว่าจะกำหนดพาร์ติชันให้กับฮาร์ดดิสก์ตัวใด
ตัวอย่างเครื่องที่มีฮาร์ดดิสก์ 2 ตัว ฮาร์ดดิสก์ตัวแรกขนาด 19 Gb ซึ่งได้แบ่งไว้ 3 ไดรว์ และ ฮาร์ดดิสก์ตัวที่ 2 9.7 Gb ที่ได้แบ่งไว้ 2 ไดรว์ ให้พิมพ์หมายเลข ฮาร์ดดิสก์ที่ต้องการ เช่น 2 กรณีที่ ต้องการจัดการกำหนดพาร์ติชันให้กับฮาร์ดดิสก์ตัวที่สอง
